About Kathy
Raised as a preacher's kid, Kathy Groom experienced the distress of being spiritually stuck in legalism and self-condemnation until she discovered the life changing truths she shares in her writing and speaking.
Kathy is passionate about authenticity and spiritual freedom. Her workshops and articles promote honest intimacy—in prayer, with each other, and within our own hearts. Kathy speaks for MOPS, church seminars, retreats, luncheons and classes.
Kathy holds a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in Community Service and has chosen to apply her knowledge as a stay-at-home mom for the past nineteen years. While selling books door-to-door as a summer job during college, Kathy met Tom, salesman extraordinaire! After a whirlwind long-distance romance, they married right after Christmas, December 28, 1982. They now have four children-Brittany, Adam, Kaelin and Molly.
This season of life is Kathy's favorite so far, with three teenagers, one pre-teen and a teen-at-heart husband. They live on a hilltop fondly nicknamed "Groom Acres" near Parker, Colorado.
